The leaves of a plant are completely coated with a clear nail polish and the plant dies a few weeks later.?

. What is the best explanation of what happened?

A. The plant could not breakdown glucose.

B. The plant could not take up water.

C. Sunlight could not penetrate the leaf.

D. CO2 could no longer enter the plant. The leaves of a plant are completely coated with a clear nail polish and the plant dies a few weeks later.?
D. Carbon dioxide could no longer enter the plant. The nail polish seals the stomata in epidermis of the leaf blocking gas exchange and transpiration. Blocking transpiration would also interfere with temperature regulation of the leaves and slow movement of water from the roots to the leaves. So, letter B could also be considered correct as well.

I suspect that the plant would die much more rapidly than in a few weeks!
