Can I put a base coat on under fake nails?

I need to re-do my acrylic nails, but I want to apply a treatment base coat on my natural nails first, like Nail Tek Foundation Xtra, and I don't want to wait for my natural nails to grow out. Can I use any kind of a treatment base coat (not cuticle oil though) that helps treat my nails under my acrylics, without causing the acrylic to lift or not stick ?
