What are these nail top-coats called?

what are those nail top-coats that strengthen your nails and prevent them from chipping off? or is there a way to prevent them from chipping off? thanks =DWhat are these nail top-coats called?
there is this thing called ... ugh darn i forget wat it is called but it is normally this smoky white color and it looks like nail polish and it is called like something filler or idk... but it works really well and keeps your nails healthy. also just a clear top coat will keep it from chipping :)
