Why do u have to put base coat on ur nails?

is top coat and base coat the same thing?Why do u have to put base coat on ur nails?
A base coat has a number of functions;

1. Helps the colour to adhere to the nail

2. Enables the polish to go on smoothly

3. Prevents the nail from getting stained if using a darker polishWhy do u have to put base coat on ur nails?
A base coat can stop the nails from becoming discoloured but the nail varnish. I think the top coat is to stop it chipping and i don't think they are the same thing.
no, you dont have too, but it's so if you use a coloured nail polish, it doesn't stain your nails - it looks crappy when people have yellow tinged nails from using too much coloured nail polish lol.
the base coat keeps your nails from getting yellow. the top coat (colorless polish) is to make it nice and shiny and no, they're not the same.
to stop from staining your nails

the top coat gives it shine

so it goes

base coat

nail polish

top coat
so it dosn't stain your nails
base coat stops the top coat from staining your nails
