Why do you apply a transparent coat to the nails before applying any colour of nail polish?

Why do we first apply a transparent coat of nail polish and then apply the nail polish colour (Example: red , pink , white, orange , blue etc) that we desire ?Why do you apply a transparent coat to the nails before applying any colour of nail polish?
If you dont apply a base coat(transparent nail polish) it will be harder to take off your nail polish and it will also turn your nails yellowish. Why do you apply a transparent coat to the nails before applying any colour of nail polish?
The transparent coat that you apply before the nail polish is the base coat. There are many varieties of base coats and they may not always be clear. Base coats help the polish adhere to the nails better so your manicure will last longer and not chip so quickly. Also, they help polish flow onto the nails better making it easier to apply. Some say base coats will help protect your nails from staining but from experience this is not true when you have polish on 24/7. Hope this helps! : )
You apply this coat first because it makes the nail polish go on smoother and last longer without chipping. This is also called the base! I`ve noticed that when I don`t do this, it literally chips off in like a day! Hope I answered your question!
It makes the color go on smoother and allows for eaiser removal later. It also makes the color longer wearing. Natural nails will still tend towards yellow if they always have polish on them without a break.
To stop the nail varnish from staining your nails. If you use red nail varnish it can turn your nails yellowish if you don't wear base coat underneath!
the color that i put is clear first!
so your nails wont become yellow-isshh eww
