Skipping base coat nail polish...?

lately it seems when I've been going to salon to get manicures they peel within a few days...yet if I do @ home and skip the base coat they last longer.. (although they DO look better first day or so @ salon) What could be causing this? I know base coat protects nails from being stained by polish..but any other reason to use? As said within a few days the polish peels off to natural nail..almost in like one clean piece???Skipping base coat nail polish...?
dont even worry with top coats and base coats. thats how they make money

but i do find if my nail polish is dull or matte, a top coat makes it shinySkipping base coat nail polish...?
Everybody's fingers are different. there are also different bases on the market that seem to have different effects on different people as well. Like was mentioned before it might be that their nail polish doesn't work well with that base. It might just be for you or everybody, but that is something that you could bring to their attention. I only started using base coats a month ago and I dont see why i need them anyway. it is supposed to help your real nail from getting brittle or cracking, and to help the polish last a little longer. This wasn't mentioned but did they use a top coat? that maybe something else to look into as well.
If the varnish peels off rather than chips off it will look better - there's nothing worse than chipped nail varnish!

Base coats also help to stop your nails drying out and chipping after you've removed your nail varnish (and help to make the nail varnish easier to remove!)

You should mention it to your manicurist though - it's not very good that the nail polish they're using is only lasting a couple of days - maybe they need to switch brands!
Do not go to salons and get a manicure with your real nails. Its not worth the price! You should just get tips because they last for a least a month. If you`re going to paint your nails, do it at home!
