It makes your nail polish last forever! The base coat also keeps your nails looking glossy and makes the lines less noticible. Also if you have thin nails it keeps them from cracking.
to fill ridges in the nail and give color something to stick to and prevent color from staining the nail
The base coat helps the nail polish stay on longer and it gives it a smoother finish.
It makes the bottom color more glossy and resistant. It protects it from getting chipped a whole lot faster than if you were to wear nail polish alone.
Its like a primer
so ur actual nail dont turn yellow
idk ask the preppy peeps.
it helps the color stay on longer and it stops it from tinting the nail
They put it on so that the top coat sticks out and glosses more
So the color will not discolor your nails! mine turned yallow when I did not use a basecoat! It also gives the nailpolish somthing to stick to!
the word 'base' is the key. It provides you with a protective coat so it doesn't easily come off your finger when weather conditions try to affect it. Put it on before your color coat and you won't have this ';grade school'; look on your finger.
so top coat will stick better and not chip as easy
it keeps the nail healthier and if there are any nicks or cuts on the surface it covers them up so that the nail polish on top stays smooth and looks better.
It's a great ridge filler. Plus it helps in not staining your natural nail.
